Rep RotPrivacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
- No accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party analytics.
- Your workouts, settings and name stay on your iPhone.
- The camera counts reps on your phone. Video is never recorded or uploaded.
- Rep Rot can't see which apps you block or how long you use them.
- The only thing that leaves your phone is an anonymous "finished a set today" record, used to show how many people did the same workout.
What stays on your iPhone
Rep Rot stores the following only on your device. We never receive it, and it's deleted when you delete the app.
- The first name you enter (optional), used only for the greeting on the home screen.
- Your workout history: the dates you completed sets, the exercise, and the number of reps or seconds.
- Your settings: exercise, daily goal, alarms and app usage limits.
- "Rots prevented": the times an app limit blocked an app, used for your counts and calendar.
Camera
When you do a workout, Rep Rot uses the front camera and Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect your body position and count reps. Camera frames are analyzed in real time on your iPhone and immediately discarded. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
Screen Time (app limits)
App limits use Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings), with permission you grant for your own device. When you choose apps, iOS gives Rep Rot opaque tokens, not app names, and iOS itself tracks your usage and applies the block. Rep Rot can't see which apps you picked, your browsing, or how long you used anything, and none of this data leaves your device. You can remove Rep Rot's Screen Time access at any time in Settings → Screen Time, which also removes any blocks.
Alarms and notifications
Alarms (Apple's AlarmKit) and notifications are scheduled locally on your iPhone. No notification content is sent to us.
The "people did this today" count
When you finish a set, and if you're signed in to iCloud, Rep Rot saves a small record to Apple's CloudKit public database. It contains only:
- the date (for example, 2026-10-18), and
- the exercise name (for example, Push-Ups).
CloudKit attaches an anonymous, app-specific identifier so each person counts once. It is not your name, email or Apple ID, and we can't use it to identify you. These records are used only to show how many people completed the same exercise that day. Rep Rot deletes your own records from previous days automatically. If you're not signed in to iCloud, nothing is saved. Apple processes this data under the Apple Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or share your data.
- We don't use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Your choices and deleting data
- Delete everything on your phone: delete the Rep Rot app.
- Stop the anonymous daily count: turn off iCloud for Rep Rot in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- Remove app limits: turn them off in Rep Rot, or remove Screen Time access in Settings → Screen Time.
- Questions or deletion requests: email help@reprotapp.com and we'll reply within 30 days.
Children
Rep Rot is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
